Visitor Information and Thorold’s Historical Museum
Situated atop of the Niagara escarpment, the most picturesque view of Locks 4,5,6 & 7 awaits you. You haven’t seen anything yet, until you view a massive ship pass by just a few feet away from you.
Our friendly staff is here to greet you and answer your questions about the history of the Welland Canal, the City and Niagara Region.
The complex is also home to an exhibit of artifacts from the Thorold and Beaverdams Historical Society.
View this video that our staff created outlining what you can expect when visiting Thorold.
Coordinate your stop with the Seaway Schedule if you want to catch a vessel in Lock 7. From the viewing deck, you can exchange waves with the ships’ crew!
