Situated atop of the Niagara escarpment, the most picturesque view of Locks 4,5,6 & 7 awaits you. You haven’t seen anything yet, until you view a massive ship pass by just a few feet away from you.
Our friendly staff is here to greet you and answer your questions about the history of the Welland Canal, the City and Niagara Region.
The complex is also home to an exhibit of artifacts from the Thorold and Beaverdams Historical Society.

Ship Viewing
Coordinate your stop with the Seaway Schedule if you want to catch a vessel in Lock 7. From the viewing deck, you can exchange waves with the ships’ crew!
Cycling
The Greater Niagara Circle Route is at our doorstep. Why not park at the end of Portland St. at Ormond St. S. and start your cycling adventure here? Explore the surroundings or ride into our cycle-friendly Downtown Heritage District.

Open Daily from May to October.

The Welland Canal is open for shipping late March – Christmas Week. It runs 24 hours a day. From January to March it is drained and closed for maintenance.
